"近年の審美性要求の高まりにより,ステンレス鋼製矯正用ワイヤー(以下,SUSワイヤー)に白色コーティングを施した製品が利用可能になったが,コーティング層が部分的に剥離する問題が報告されており,SUSワイヤーの色調を制御する新たな手法が望まれる.そこで,本研究ではステンレス鋼に酸化被膜を形成するインコ法による色調コントロールを試みた.インコ法によりSUSワイヤーの色調を変化させることが可能であり,処理条件によっては,未処理と比較して歯冠色に近い色調を得ることができた.処理時間が増加するにつれ,SUSワイヤー表面のCrおよびOの量が増加したことから,着色はCrを主成分とする酸化被膜の形成による光の干渉作用と推察される.歯冠色に近い色調を有したSUSワイヤーのメタルブラケットに対する静止摩擦力,ビッカース硬さ,弾性係数および引張強さは未処理のSUSワイヤーと有意差は認められず,耐食性は向上することがわかった.(著者抄録)",
